What is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of permanent make up which is implemented using a hand held tool comprised of between micro needles hence the name microblade.
Is all Cosmetic tattooing permanent?
Yes. Even though it does fade over time, you will still have pigment in the dermal layer of your skin.
How long does it last?
Tulsa Brow Bar does not guarantee services without a 6-8 week touchup. After that, 12-18 months if taken care of properly.
What is the difference between Microblading and Powder Brow?
Microblading is a manual method of tattooing hair strokes into the brows. Powder brow is done with a machine and gives the look of a powder makeup. Both are very natural. Your technician will tell you what would be best for your skin.
Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is used that will set on the brows for 25-30 minutes. Most clients compare the feeling to plucking and some clients have said it is almost painless for them.
Can you describe what the first session is like?
During your first session (approximately 2 hours), a custom design for your brow shape based on your bone structure, eye placement, face shape and other factors is decided. The pigment choice is then selected. Once your shape and pigment are agreed upon, you will then be numbed using a lidocaine cream.
You do not have to hide from the world after your service. Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color your new brows will soften in 2-3 weeks.
After your initial appointment, a touch up will be done between 6-8 weeks.
How old do I have to be to get permanent makeup?
You must be 18 years of age or older.
What should I expect prior to my appointment? What should I do before hand to prepare?
See BROW CARE for all pre and post instructions.
Can I get Microbladed while I am pregnant or nursing?
How often will I need touchups?
I never recommend touchups more than twice a year. The more healing time between appointments, the better for your skin. The goal is for each client to follow all aftercare exactly as it reads for optimum results. Clients should be able to last 12-18 months for touchups.
Will I still need brow makeup once it is healed?
Some clients will still need to apply brow makeup depending on how bold you want your brows. This all depends on skin type, have lighter brow hair, skin complexion and how bold you want your brows. You will always have your shape and color from permanent makeup, so this makes applying makeup very easy.
Do you get rid of the brow hair before tattooing?
No! We wanted to keep as much hair as possible for a more natural result.
What is your cancellation policy:
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
See Brow Care.
If I have had microblading somewhere else, will you do the touchup?
I require a photo of permanent makeup sent so I can see what I am working with. Any clients with previous permanent makeup that is not my work will be charged as a new, full price client. Even though you have had it done before, corrections will need to be made as well as any corrections to shape. In most cases, touching up another artist’s work is MORE work than getting a new service done. This is why I charge like I do.
Microblading and all permanent makeup is beneficial for anyone who:
· Has an active lifestyle
· Has difficulty applying makeup
· Has an allergy to regular cosmetics
· Wants to enhance appearance
· Wants to cut down time applying makeup
· Has eyebrow loss due to over plucking, aging process, scarring, or alopecia
What will fade my eyebrows?
Sun exposure/UV rays will fade your brows. Certain products that contain Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Retinols, Retin-A. Chemical peels, skin resurfacing, Microneedling, and certain medications can cause fading. We always recommend sunscreen on your brows! This will help your brows last a long time! Oily skin will give your permanent makeup a much softer look than those with dry skin. Different tips will be given for aftercare for clients with oily skin.
I never guarantee “perfect” results. Each person heals and retains pigment so differently. I tell all of my clients that if I do my part, I expect you to do yours with your aftercare. Following your aftercare procedure is CRUCIAL to your healed results.
What safety practices do you utilize?
